Splitting a PDF is usually something you do because one part of it is shareable and the rest is not — a single invoice out of a year of statements, two pages of a contract for a colleague, one form out of a scanned bundle. That is precisely the situation where uploading the whole document to an unknown server to get a few pages back is the wrong trade.
This splitter never sends the file anywhere. Your browser reads it, copies the pages you selected into new documents and hands them straight back. Nothing is queued, stored or retained, because no server is involved at any stage.
Pages are copied rather than re-rendered, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution. The Result panel shows exactly which files you are about to get and which pages each one contains, so there is no guessing before you commit.
How to split a PDF

Is this PDF splitter free? +
Yes, entirely. There is no account, no trial, no page cap and no daily limit, and the split files carry no watermark. Everything runs on your own device, so there is no server cost to pass on.
Are my PDF files uploaded anywhere? +
No. The file is read and split inside your browser. Nothing is transmitted, which matters for the documents people most often need to split — bank statements, contracts, medical records and scanned ID. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect and it still works.
How do I extract just a few pages from a PDF? +
Choose "Extract pages into one PDF" and enter the pages you want, such as 1-3, 7, 10-. Everything else is dropped and you get a single PDF containing only those pages, in order.
Can I split a PDF into separate pages? +
Yes. Choose "Split every page into its own PDF" and each page becomes its own file. Because that produces many files at once, they are delivered together in a zip archive.
What does a page range like 10- mean? +
An open-ended range: page ten through to the last page, whatever the length. You can mix forms freely — 1-3, 7, 10- means pages one to three, page seven, and everything from page ten onwards.
Does splitting reduce quality? +
No. Pages are copied into the new documents rather than re-rendered, so text stays selectable and searchable and images keep their original resolution.
Can I split a password-protected PDF? +
Not directly. An encrypted file cannot have its pages extracted without the password. Open it in your usual PDF viewer, save a copy without the password, then split that copy.
